FleetMind/McNeilus Discuss Fleet Management Technologies at Waste Expo 2017

McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, and FleetMind, a Safe Fleet brand, will offer a presentation on fleet management technologies during Waste Expo 2017 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Bryan Dodds, director of aftermarket product development at McNeilus, will co-present with Don Diego Padilla, vice-president of FleetMind, McNeilus’ development partner in the creation of its Street Smart Vision™ solution for refuse vehicles. The deep-dive discussion will offer insight into managing a fleet in the most productive and efficient way possible.

In addition, Dodds and Padilla will discuss how new technologies, including connected Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, will benefit the industry. That vision includes advanced communications that enable fleet owners and managers to better supervise their drivers, protect their company from liability and enable optimal performance from drivers.

“Our SSV10 is the first system in the industry to combine the capabilities companies need to leap into the future,” Dodds said. “In addition to combining fleet safety, route management and maintenance, it also provides customers with a single point of support contact for the software, hardware, and truck.”

“Best of all, it’s virtually free, in that early adopters are finding that their costs for the new technology are usually offset by a reduction in insurance premiums,” added Dodds. “Some owners are utilizing the system as a competitive advantage, to make their fleets more efficient and reduce their costs. That’s winning them more contracts.”

“In this new era of connected ‘smart’ fleets, it made so much sense for FleetMind and McNeilus to join forces to create SSV10 – a complete and fully-integrated smart truck with fleet management software and systems pre-installed,” said FleetMind’s Padilla. “Making it easier, more user-friendly and technologically seamless to operate a smart fleet is now the next logical leap forward for waste management organizations”

The SSV10, powered by FleetMind, provides optimized routing, reduces maintenance costs and fuel consumption and interfaces with third-party dispatch, billing, maintenance and other applications. McNeilus will install, service and support the system through its network of service center locations across North America. Additionally, the SSV10 vision system combines a broader view for drivers when monitoring their surroundings, also empowering managers to track and correct driver behavior.
