Whitepaper: A Mission to Keep Students Safe and Change Motorist Behavior

We’ve written about this before; the number of school bus stop arm violations is increasing, and while catching and ticketing stop arm violators helps, it is often not enough to keep kids safe. Motorist distraction is usually said to be the underlying cause for this increase, but some experts are suggesting that we may also be observing more motorists passing stopped buses with deployed stop arms simply because they are less concerned about observing rules and regulations than before.
Download our newest whitepaper, A Mission to Keep Students Safe and Change Motorist Behavior for a deeper dive into the number of stop arm violations across the US, what is currently being done and why it solves the problem only part-way, and our proposed solution to close the gap.

Excerpt from the whitepaper:

“Many distracted motorists may respond positively in time to education campaigns and tools that are currently in use to address stop arm violations: public reminders to put down the phone while driving, flashing lights and mechanical devices such as extended stop arms and citations for violators. There still remains a small group of motorists who despite all precautions may be distracted in the moment or may operate a vehicle under the influence. This group is not reachable through advocacy or safety products, and it poses significant and ongoing risk to students outside the bus.”
