QUALITY TECHNICIAN

Location: Eagan, Minnesota


A Quality Technician will work as the interface between quality, production, and engineering to ensure that product quality related issues are documented and resolved in a timely and effective manner.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical testing and inspection of raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods.
  • Control product disposition for quality and warranty defects & failures including the maintenance of all records and data related to these issues.
  • Perform Root Cause analysis of product issues in cooperation with engineering and production teams.
  • Complete day-to-day part inspections to ensure part conformance.
  • Assist in maintaining quality standards and records, including work instructions and QMS (Quality Management System) documentation.
  • Maintain calibrations for all controlled tools including performing or scheduling calibrations.
  • Issue corrective actions related to product or process defects generating customer complaints.
  • Assist with the completion of corrective action tasks (8D)/(A3).
  • Assist with internal and external QMS related audits.
  • Participate in customer and third party audits (Internal Auditor as well).
  • Assist with CI projects affecting quality and production.
  • Generate documentation for customer PPAP evaluations.
  • Assist in creating and revising Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Complete First Article Inspections.
  • Assist in quality documentation of part inspections, ongoing projects, nonconformance reports, etc.
  • Conduct quality audits and routine floor checks.
  • Provide feedback of quality systems implemented on the manufacturing floor.
  • Material Review Board participation.
  • Maintain inventory status of equipment in Quality Lab.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in quality assurance/inspection/technician, internal auditor experience preferred.
  • Prior quality lab experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of machining/manufacturing a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic measurement tools: calipers, pin gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, etc.
  • Good documentation practices and ability to relay critical quality information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Leadership ability and willingness to take on projects.
  • Reliable and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines efficiently and effectively.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Safety First attitude.
  • Physical requirements include frequent reaching, gripping and carrying up to 50 lbs., plus frequent standing, stooping, bending, squatting, and walking.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.


Schedule:

1st shift; M-F, 8am-4pm; 8:30am-4:30pm; 9am-5pm
